Love Is Never Enough, Or Is It?
[ send me this paper ]
An 8 page paper discussing the book by Aaron T. Beck entitled, Love is Never Enough. This book is based a cognitive therapy approach to marriage counseling. Beck offers many constructive ideas and exercises for the couple who wish to more fully understand each other while ceasing to bring in their negative, and pointless, emotions into the relationship. [ send me this paper ]
This 15 page report discusses
the concepts associated with mediation processes and discusses
the ways in which cultural, social, and personal biases can have
a significant impact on the successfulness of the outcomes
reached through mediation. Mediation has become an effective and
beneficial means of dispute settlement in a number of
circumstances. The mediator creates a safe and encouraging
environment for deliberation, fostering new ideas, shuttling
settlement options back and forth and focusing attention on
feasible solutions. The process is not only cheaper than
litigation but more geared to fixing what is broken. The most
important thing to understand is the fact that in the vast
majority of situations the potential drawbacks of mediation are

A 12 page research paper that addresses this topic. Couples therapy has become increasing popular for treating a wide variety of problems as therapists recognize that problems arise within the context of the client’s social and emotional environment (Ussher, 1990). Cognitive Behavioral Couple Therapy (CBCT) began in the late 1970s/early 1980s with the research and theory construction of Jacobson and Margolin in 1979 and Stuart in 1980 (Epstein, 2006). It provided precise clinical guidelines that facilitate offering effective aid to “distressed couples from an empirically supported social learning framework” (Epstein, 2006, p. 339). However, while CBCT helped many couples, this method of couple therapy also presented challenges, as “outcome studies” sowed that behavioral interventions did not produce “statistically or clinically significant improvement,” as relapses were noted at follow-up evaluations (Epstein, 2006, p. 339).
